Certificate Program in
Medical Scribing

“Certificate Program in Medical Scribing (CPMS®)” is an
industry integrated job oriented training program,
provided by New Generation Jobs Private Limited
registered under Ministry of Corporate Affairs,
Government of India, vides CIN U74999KA2018PTC111767.

Unlike most education programs, CPMS® ensures employability. This program is meticulously designed, and regularly updated and upgraded regularly over 5 years of extensive and intensive research and practice since 2014. The program’s syllabus and training module help students to achieve various types of jobs in the vast and varied industry of medical scribing.

The primary objective of this program is to create an internationally accepted Doctor-Ready and Doctor-Approved medical scribing specialists/medical scribes/medical scribe specialist. Doctor-Approved Medical Scribes/Scribe Specialists generally work real-time or near to real-time, remotely for physicians/doctors/medical practitioners hence also known as remote medical scribes, in the United States of America and various other nations.

The program has 3 Stages.

The training in this level imparts the general foundation skills required to be employable in any of the office executive level jobs. This training module is considered as a Pre Employment upskilling program. This level training is not mandatory to attend the CPMS® Foundation Level examination.

Note: If an aspiring candidate expresses a desire to join CPMS Level 01 directly, and if a Member Institute/NGJ deems it unnecessary for them to undergo the Foundation level training based on NGJ screening and acceptance, then these candidates will be required to take a separate CPMS aptitude examination for admission to CPMS Level 01. Such shortlisted students have to pay INR.5000+GST per exam.

Certifications and other features:

  • “CPMS® Foundation Level Certificate” for those who register for CPMS® (Stage 02).
  • Executive Scribe Certificate (Participation or PASS Certificate).

CPMS® Level 01 – Duration tentatively 616 Hours.
The training in this level imparts almost all the basic skills required to be employable in the vast and varied industry of medical scribing/ Medical Documentation. The students are required to pass the certification test and or passing criteria of each level of Stage 02 and 03 to progress to the next.

Eligibility Criteria for CPMS® Level 01admission are as follows,

  • CPMS Aspirant must have a CPMS TRN (Temporary Registration Number).
  • CPMS Aspirant must PASS “CPMS Foundation level” examination for appearing for the personal round interview by New Generation Jobs Pvt Ltd.
  • CPMS Aspirant must PASS the personal round Interview (Online or Offline) to get admission to CPMS® Level 01.
  • Admission to CPMS® Level 01 is only through CPMS® authorised Member Institute listed in www.cpmsindiaonline.com.

This level requires the student to complete a minimum of 616 hours of training. Each academic month of this level requires 22 days of classroom training with 7 class hours per day and additional hours for assessment tests.

The students are compulsorily required to attend 4 monthly assessment tests also known as Monthly Tests and a Pre-FLC Test (a model exam before attending the First Level Certification Test i.e. FLC Test). The results of monthly assessment tests maybe a combination of various periodic tests (including but not limited to chapter-wise tests) and/or a set of examinations held at the end of every 22 days of classes.

There shall be assessment tests at the end of topics and/or periodically during the program based on various parameters including but not limited to the students' progression. The final examination of this level is called the CPMS® FLC Test. The duration of the subjects and result of various scores in the CPMS® FLC Test are as mentioned below:

After successful completion of CPMS level 01 student have to undergo an interview online/ offline to proceed with the CPMS Level 02.

Certifications and other features:

  • CPMS® Level 01 Participation Certificate
  • CPMS® Level 01 PASS/ Completion Certificate for those who are progressing to CPMS® Level 02.
  • Eligible to apply for monthly stipends during CPMS® Level 02.
  • Those who fail to achieve PASSING criteria of CPMS® Level 01 are eligible for 04 more free attempts at CPMS FLC Test with in 365 days.

CPMS® Level 02: The training for the CPMS® Level 02 will be at a facility located in Bengaluru. The training during this level prepares students to be employable into more serious medical scribing roles like that of a Clinical Note Reviewer and hence can be considered as advanced medical scribe training program. During this tuition-fee-free level the students to successfully complete training majorly in the skills to prepare medical charts from audio files, and video files along with Medical Scribing essentials. Currently the training is provided for free and eligible students are paid monthly stipends upto INR.15,000/- from 2nd month of level 2. After the successful completion of this level the students are eligible to progress for Level 3 training. The duration of this level is generally upto 4 months. In the unlikely circumstance where the student fails to meet the criteria or performance standards set by recruiting partner company in CPMS Level 2 or Level 03, the student will be duly notified and required to withdraw from the program.

CPMS® Level 03: The training for this level shall be at a facility in Bengaluru. This level prepares aspirants to be internationally accepted Medical Scribing Specialists. This tuition fee free period of training generally takes around 2 months. Students who successfully complete this training are known as Doctor Ready Medical Scribes.

Note: Since CPMS® is an industry integrated job-oriented training program, the syllabus and structure of the program requires to be and shall be updated as and when required.

Stage 01: CPMS® Foundation Level - Should have completed 18 years of age.

Stage 02: CPMS® Level 01 – PASS CPMS® Foundation Level and Personal round interview.

Stage 03: CPMS® Level 02 and 03 – PASS CPMS® Level 01.
